Berkeley Heights has a very high quality school system. The Berkeley Heights school district ranks highly and consists of one high school, one middle school, three elementary schools and one early childhood center. Each school is committed to empowering its students with the skills and strengths necessary to be active members in today's world.
Governor Livingston High School is a comprehensive, four-year public school with a current enrollment of 982 students, 239 in the Senior Class. The school faculty enjoys a 1/10 pupil ratio and is dedicated to excellence in education while developing the potential and self-esteem of each individual student. Most graduates go on to 4 year colleges. The school scores exceptionally high on the state HSPA exam. A large percentage of students is enrolled in honors and Advanced Placement courses. Special programs include Gifted and Talented, JROTC, and courses for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. In addition, GLHS is known for its championship caliber “world class” marching band.
